Chester Ghost Tour – click here for dates.

How long does the tour take?

All tours take approximately 90 minutes but allow 2 hours for the Walls Walk.

Where do the tours start?

All tours start at the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre on Northgate Street (or just outside if it is closed).

How much do tours cost?

Tickets for The Chester Tour and Chester Walls Walk are £10 adults. Up to two under 16s go free with an accompanying adult.

Tickets for The Chester Ghost Tour are £10 adults, £9 concessions (seniors, students and children)  and £25 families (2 adults plus two children under the age of 16).

Can I pre-book my tour tickets?

Booking is essential for the Ghost Tour – click here

There is no need to book for The Chester Tour – just buy your tickets on the day direct from the Guide at the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre on Northgate Street. If there is a group of you, you can book a Guide exclusively for your group at a time convenient to you – just contact a Guide direct here or email us us at: chesterwalkingtours@gmail.com

Will the tour be running today? What happens if the weather is bad?

Tours run in all weathers and every day as advertised (even Christmas Day). If the weather is bad, your Guide will tailor the tour accordingly, perhaps spending more time exploring the Rows where there is shelter.

Are tours available at other times?

Yes! Any tour can be booked privately at a convenient time – see our full range of group/private tours and how to book, here.

I can’t walk very far, will the tour be suitable for me?

The Guide tailors each tour to the group. If you have limited mobility the Guide will ensure the focus is on the more accessible parts of the city.

I am a wheelchair user, is the tour suitable for me? Is the tour accessible?

The Chester Tour: the Guide chooses the route each day according to the  needs and abilities of the group, so wheelchairs are not a problem – there is plenty to see in Chester and parts of the Wall and the Rows are accessible by wheelchair.

Chester Walls Walk: unfortunatley there are multiple steps on the walls, but a section of walls suitable for wheelchair users is included on The Chester Tour.

Can I bring my children on the tour? Is the tour suitable for all ages?

Yes, accompanied children are welcome on all our tours and go free! Pushchairs can also be accommodated.

Is there a family ticket?

No, because only the adults pay – under 16s go free (up to two per accompanying adult).

Can I bring my dog on the tour?

Only Guide dogs are permitted on the tours.

How many people will be on the tour?

For the safety and comfort of our customers, numbers on tours should not exceed 25 people per Guide.

Can I book the tour privately for my group of friends/family/collages?

Yes, all tours can be booked privately for groups here. Group bookings can be arranged at any time to suit, and can be tailored to any special areas of interest.
