Which tours are on today?

The Chester Tour is on every day (even Christmas Day) at 10.30am. From Easter to end October it is repeated at 2pm. Chester Ghost Tour – click here for dates.

How long does the tour take?

All tours take approximately 90 minutes.

Where do the tours start?

All tours start from outside the Town Hall visitor information centre on Northgate Street’

How much do tours cost?

Tickets for The Chester Tour  are £10 for adults. Two children under the age of 16 can go free per adult. 

Tickets for The Chester Ghost Tour are £10 adults, £9 concessions (seniors, students and children)  and £25 families (2 adults plus two children under the age of 16).

Can I pre-book my tour tickets?

If there is a group of you, you can book a Guide exclusively for your group at a time convenient to you – just contact us via our group booking email address: chesterwalkingtours@gmail.com

You can buy tickets on the day for the Chester Tour – just buy your tickets on the day direct from the Guide at the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre on Northgate Street.

Will the tour be running today? What happens if the weather is bad?

Tours run in all weathers and every day as advertised (even Christmas Day). If the weather is bad, your Guide will tailor the tour accordingly, perhaps spending more time exploring the Rows where there is shelter.

Are tours available at other times?

Yes any tour can be booked privately at a convenient time – see our full range of group/private tours and how to book, here.

I can’t walk very far, will the tour be suitable for me?

The Guide tailors each tour to the group. If you have limited mobility the Guide will ensure the focus is on the more accessible parts of the city.

I am a wheelchair user, is the tour suitable for me? Is the tour accessible?

The Guide chooses the route each day according to the  needs and abilities of the group, so wheelchairs are not a problem – there is plenty to see in Chester and parts of the Rows are accessible by wheelchair.

Chester Walls: unfortunately due to multiple steps on the walls, this walk isn’t possible. However, a section of the walls suitable four wheelchair users is included on The Chester Tour.

Can I bring my children on the tour? Is the tour suitable for all ages?

Yes, accompanied children are welcome on all our tours. Pushchairs can also be accommodated.

Is there a family ticket?

Yes, a family ticket, for two adults plus two children (under the age of 16) is £20.

Can I bring my dog on the tour?

Only Guide dogs are permitted on the tours.

How many people will be on the tour?

For the safety and comfort of our customers, numbers on tours should not exceed 25 people per Guide.

Can I book the tour privately for my group of friends/family/collages?

Yes, all tours can be booked privately for groups here. Group bookings can be arranged at any time to suit, and can be tailored to any special areas of interest.
